ABOUT US

History

In 1937, Hendrikus Holland and his wife Hendrika started a small artisan bakery on Oosteinde in Vriezenveen. Hendrikus soon got the idea to stand out not only by focusing on quality but also by working innovatively and efficiently – so that’s been in our DNA from the start. This led to the idea of baking lines, a choice that proved decisive for the future.

In 1968, Leo Holland and his wife Jopy Holland joined his parents in the bakery. Inspired by his father, he continued the business with his family. Bakkerij Holland grew, adding more and more customers to its clientele.

In 1998, the third generation joined the company: Leo’s son Herry Holland and his wife Finanda. The demand for Bakkerij Holland products increased, and so we opened our second location in Roosendaal in 1999. In 2012, we moved from our location on Oosteinde to the current location on Watergang in Vriezenveen, which was built in a completely sustainable manner according to BREAAM standards. This branch doubled its capacity in 2017. Due to the growing demand from our (export) customers, the location in Roosendaal was also expanded in 2019. We now have a total of ten production lines.

In 2020, the fourth generation joined the company. In the years that followed, we expanded the production capacity in Vriezenveen. A specific production line was added for export products for the German market. There is now also a MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) production line for products like Kaiserbrötchen and Petit Pains.

Together with all our colleagues, we work hard on the future of Bakkerij Holland. One thing is the same as it ever was: We still work with the same passion and drive. Innovation and tradition go hand in hand for us, ensuring that after all these years we can still do what we love most: baking the best bread at the lowest price.
